Conducted by the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, amàco and Les Grands Ateliers, the exhibition presents 40 finalist buildings for the TERRAFIBRA Award, the world’s leading prize for contemporary architecture using raw earth and plant fibers. Faced with the challenge of climate change and the need to adapt building systems, the use of biosourced and geosourced materials offers virtuous technical solutions. Combining earth and plant fibers enhances the mix of materials and reaffirms the importance of constructive intelligence, which aims to use the right quantity of the right material in the right place.
Curated by Dominique Gauzin-Müller, research architect, and Anne Lambert, engineer and designer.
Exhibition presented by Laboratoire d’étude de l’architecture potentielle and École d’architecture de l’Université de Montréal. Leap members and professors Georges Adamczyk and Bechara Helal are the curators for this North American premiere.
