Thesis title: Evaluating impacts of green infrastructure design and management on urban biodiversity
Nicole Yu’s research focuses on how green infrastructure can support urban biodiversity, whether private balconies or public parks, as solutions towards building ecologically sustainable cities. As the public’s perception is important for the support of urban greening initiatives, she uses participatory science methods in her doctoral research to engage the public in urban biodiversity monitoring. She also work with urban planners and landscape architects to monitor the ecological impact of their projects.
