Elijah Borrero

Elijah Borrero is a first year PhD student in the School of Architecture at McGill University, under the supervisor od David Theodore.He studies post-World War Two architecture, focusing on the relationship between architectural thought, military production and technological innovation. His dissertation, titled “Cold War Architectures: US Military Building Campaigns in the 1950s”, examines the collaborative efforts of architects, engineers and US military personnel at the start of the Cold War and seeks to reveal how and why progressive architectural thought was militarized. Eli holds a B.A. in mathematics and professional masters in architecture from New York, and post-professional masters in architecture from Montréal.
