TERRAFIBRA ARCHITECTURES

TF_photo_02_scaled.jpg

Conducted by the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, amàco and Les Grands Ateliers, the exhibition presents the 40 finalist buildings for the TERRAFIBRA Award, the world’s first prize for contemporary architecture built with raw earth and plant fibers. In the face of climate change and the necessary adaptation of building systems, the use of biosourced and geosourced materials offers virtuous technical solutions. Combining earth and plant fibers emphasizes the mixed use of materials and reaffirms the importance of constructive intelligence, which aims to use the right quantity of the right material in the right place.

Curated by Dominique Gauzin-Müller, architect and researcher, and Anne Lambert, engineer and designer.

Exhibition presented by the Laboratoire d’étude de l’architecture potentielle and the École d’architecture de l’Université de Montréal.
